| A short piece inspired by the French form, in which a single voice emerges above the others by means of a particular registration. In this instance the solo is 'dessus', or above, and is played with a classic 'Récit de Nazard' registration. However, unlike its historical cousins, the solo here is un-ornamented and the harmonies more contemporary. |
